Bed Bug Heat Treatment
Effective bed bug control method

Overview of Bed Bug Heat Treatment
Bed bug heat treatment is a pest control method that uses high temperatures to eliminate bed bugs and their eggs. This approach is chemical-free and effective against all life stages of bed bugs.
How It Works
Temperature Requirements
The room or area must be heated to at least 49-63°C (120-145°F). Bed bugs die when exposed to these temperatures for a sufficient duration, typically around 6-8 hours.
Process
Heating units are set up to raise the temperature in the affected area. Fans are used to circulate heat evenly, ensuring that all surfaces reach the required temperature. Special attention is given to cold spots, as these can prevent effective treatment.
Advantages
-
Immediate Results: Heat treatment can provide quick eradication of bed bugs, often within a single session.
-
Non-Toxic: This method avoids the use of harmful chemicals, making it safer for humans and pets.
-
Effective Against Resistance: Bed bugs have developed resistance to many pesticides, making heat treatment a reliable alternative.
What to Do Before the Bed Bug Exterminator Comes
Since bed bugs are super tough, there are a few things you should do before the experts arrive to make sure the treatment works well:

Pets
Move your pets, including fish, out of the way before they start.
Beddings
Take off all the bedding that's affected and wash it in really hot water (60-90°C).
Clothes
Wash any clothes from the infested room in hot water (60-90°C) too.
Bedroom
Vacuum the whole room, especially under the bed, to pick up any bugs.
